I’ve just found out that my scanner (Canon 8800F) got full Linux support (ie in the most recent SANE version) about 6 months ago, so I happily ditched the windows vbox setup I used to use for scanning.

It obviously wasn’t supported when I first bought it and I stopped looking about a year ago, having settled on the working setup I had, but I had a hunch today and looked it up again. And I was happy.
